AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED (ALS) to NAT. COOPER, WRITTEN AT NEW YORK, 13 FEBRUARY 1850
Seward, Henry C.
Written in a legible hand. One page. Addresses Cooper as "Dear Uncle" and apologizes for his delay in writing about the price of poultry. The current market is 11 cents for chickens, 15 cents for ducks, 6 cents for geese, 6 cents for light pork, &c. "Ducks are very scarce," so Stephen "might do well to buy up a lot of them. I would shut up the poultry and let them remain without food for a little time before you kill them. Let me know when I shall meet Stephen at the Jersey City Ferry." Sends regards to family members, etc. 10" x 7.75". n n
