Very Good First Edition Paul Tsongas, Here is his book he wrote to change liberalism in America. His beliefs in this book did not shatter the world of the democratic party, but he changed us with his beliefs in the deficit budget problems, he had the courage to make it his main platform for the Presidency of the United States. Bill Clinton took this idea and ammeliorated it with a combination of Old Roosevelt type ideas and won over the hearts and minds of America. Paul had something Clinton will never have and he was envious of him for it. Integrity. Paul was honest, straightforward and he helped his constituents one by one. Personally, he helped me join the Peace Corps and helped with my graduate studies by helping me with my student loans. I will never forget him ansewering the phone when I called his house before I went in the Peace Corps and before his run for the President. He was always an encouraging type and the type of humbled man that makes it as a leader. Why, because he had the broad ideas of the world and he had a grip on his home town politics as well. Massachusetts people miss him and we miss his unique voice in American Politics. The Peace Corps building in Washington should be named after him. I wish he had written a book on his foreign policy ideas or discussed that he was the last person on the floor the day the CETA program was cut out of the budget under the Reagan administration arguing for it. We won't forget his fight and courage. 2/6/2005 12:49:43 AM 2/6/2005 12:50:29 AM 1
