Facsimile reprint of the 1930 OUP edition. ~ Letter written by Emily Eden [ 1797 - 1869 ] whilst in India with her brother, George Eden, 2nd Baron Auckland. She accompanied him to Inda when he was made Govenor General in 1835. The letters herein were written on an extended two & a half year tour of Northern India made between 1837 - 1840. The letters are written in Eden's ironic style & have a fine eye for detail.
