Fair 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall No Jacket, as Issued Full-Leather Revised Edition 1st edition revised, probably 4th issue with added sequel 'Story of Toby. BAL13655. Re TYPEE, as stated in BAL13652 "No wholly satisfactory publication sequence has been established for the London issues of this book." The Murray version is Melville's first book, preceding the US publication. There were two issues of the true first, followed by an 1846 issue with the Sequel, with the presumed 4th issue in 1847. (According to the BAL Dec.1, 1846 is the earliest located advertisement of a printing with the sequel.). With marbled endpapers, binding rubbed and worn, rear board loose, suitable for restoration.
