1st US edition. ~ Cloth, VG. xvi+436pp, index, cloth a little rubbed along the edges, otherwise a fine copy. ~ English translation of Krafft-Ebing's famous work on the 'Sexual Perversion'. He classed any sexual activity which did not lead to procreation as a perversion. Despite his efforts to avoid sensationalising the case studies even having 'certain particularly revolting portions in latin' the book was very popular with lay readers & went through many editions. This English translation, from the 7th German edition, retains that Latin. Richard Freiherr von Krafft-Ebing [ 1840 - 1902 ] psychiatrist & educator.
