Oscar Wilde: His Life and Confessions (2 Vols.) .
HARRIS, Frank
First Edition PRESENTATION COPY. 2 volumes. Presentation copy from the author to the actress Maud Allan. She danced the role of Salome, and was at the centre of a famous libel trial in 1918. She sued and lost, partly because of Billing's claim that there was a sexually perverse pro German Fifth Column in England that was compromising possible peace for a war weary England. Modern full green morocco binding. Very good copy, with one leaf professionally repaired. TOGETHER WITH; KETTLE, Michael - Salome's Last Veil - The Libel Case of the Century - Granada 1977. This title covers the trial. Office
