During his time Stuart Chase in my mi nd was a pioneer in Labor statistics and consumer behavior. Stuart Chase was a certified public accountant and a Director of the Labor Bureau, Incorporated. For many years he worked for the Federal Tr ade Commission. The first of the many books by Stuart Chase on Cosumerism after the depression this type of thought became popular and mainstream. Consumer Research Union was created with Chase's help which assisted in writing many of our laws related to advertisement and consumerism. Both Chase and Schlink contend that companies mislead the public in advertising of their products. The authors try to pesuade you the consumer that items such as cleaning and insecticides. They encourage you the consumer to demand facts from companies on the scientific claims they make on ingredients. Until they come up to your standards Chase encourages you to make your own homemade products until companies ameliorate their standards. Your Money's Worth created much controversy, particularly, from the advert ising world. The charges were rebutted by Charles Capenter in Dollar and Sense. 1.
