This leading protagonist of both land- and body art has been an active innovator since the late Sixties. The expression has taken a wide variety of forms; performance, video, film, sculpture, drawing and architecture at times converge in his prolific, individualistic work. The sculpture of the Eighties is pervaded with a playful and violent irony in its use of distorted objects. The mid-Nineties brought a focus on large sculpture situated in the public arena. This monograph is the most complete to date, and is the first publication to document the artist's creative production between 1967 and 2000.
