From School Library Journal:
Grade 1-3?This zany production uses a bathtub as a vehicle to explore an ocean environment. A grimacing Billy obviously isn't fond of baths until an orca bursts from the tub to take him and his dog on a magical cruise. They meet many animals-from fish to pinnipeds to birds-before dropping anchor once again in the boy's bathroom. The adventure is related in rollicking rhyme, at times considerably contrived, with an overall style that's a cross between Dr. Seuss and the "Magic School Bus" series. Facts written in small print surround each creature and include headings that are often plays on words. Each animal is depicted in an exaggerated cartoon style, but retains enough of its natural features to be identifiable. The verse, set in white type, bounces along on abstract shapes representing ocean waves, and is easy to locate amid the busy, colorwashed pages. Not a book for reports or for those looking for solid information, but one that might have limited appeal to youngsters who like to be entertained as they learn.?Diane Nunn, Richard E.
