Ted Stewart, with a foreword by Chris Stewart Throughout the course of history, civilization has been blessed by strong-minded men and women who have impacted our world in extraordinary ways. Their imprint upon humanity is beyond dispute. And many would contend that they were no less than the result of Divine Providence a gift of God to the human race. Who are these individuals? What is it about these few that make them different? Were they merely in the right place at the right time? Or were they somehow chosen? Mark of a Giant examines the lives and contributions of seven men and women who changed the world: Abraham of Ur, Pericles, the Apostle Paul, Sir Isaac Newton, Marie Curie, Martin Luther King Jr., and Mother Teresa.

From the Inside Flap:
Every now and then, a strong-minded man or woman comes forward whose life's work will change the course of history. These are the people we call "giants," people who have made contributions to the world that left it forever altered in some way. Seven such giants are presented in this book:

Abraham of Ur, who established a monotheism perpetuated through three of the world's great religions that claim him as their own: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Pericles, the Athenian political leader credited with giving life to the ideal of popular democracy.

The Apostle Paul, who spread Christianity throughout the Roman Empire.

Sir Isaac Newton, called by many the greatest scientist who ever lived.

Madame Marie Curie, whose work opened the door to the mysteries of the atom and the science of nuclear physics.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., leader of the American Civil Rights Movement, whose policy of nonviolence helped extend the rights of citizenship to all Americans.

Mother Teresa, the Nobel-prize-winning humanitarian and saint whose example of sacrifice taught countless people the meaning of Christlike love.

How did these people become great? What traits did they share that marked them as giants? Ted Stewart addresses these questions with clarity and insight in The Mark of a Giant. Then he raises the most important question of all: Will their example inspire us to make our own mark on the world?
