From the Author:
Prospect High: Brooklyn was devised by Daniel Robert Sullivan in response to his perception of a current dearth of issue-driven, easily-producible, flexible-cast plays for teenage actors to perform. Co-writers are real New York City high school students who participated in six months of workshops led by Daniel Robert Sullivan in Roundabout Theatre Company's Education Department. The dialogue in the play comes directly from their actual conversations and in many cases is preserved verbatim. Without their honesty, openness, and willingness to share, we would never have such a clear picture of what some teenagers are thinking about here in New York. Grateful acknowledgement must also be given for the significant improvements offered by Shelley Butler and Shannon Deep.
Daniel Robert Sullivan and Roundabout Theatre Company are participants in the Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships, funded by the William & Eva Fox Foundation and administered by Theatre Communications Group.
