Rose Lucas married at age sixteen and divorced by age twenty struggled to continue her education between working and raising her children as a single parent. It was her strong desire and love for learning that kept her motivated. In 2000, she received a certificate in General Office Procedures. In 2003, she enrolled in a community college seeking to learn Spanish so that she could communicate with the children she provided care while their parents learned to speak English at the local community action program. In 2006, she graduated with a 3.7 as an Associate of Human Services. She is currently enrolled in Early Childhood Education classes. Rose wish to open a center to help single mothers and their children as outlined in Titus 2 of the King James Bible. She believes that it is the duty of the older women to teach the younger women how to love and care for their husbands and children. As a single mother, Rose felt that there were other mothers that lacked the knowledge to rear happy successful children, and had a desire to do better if they were equipped with the right resources. The purpose of writing this book is raise awareness of the need to help America’s children and prepare them for the future.
