Following several recent books about the fall of Marcos and the triumph of "People Power" in the Philippines, Worth Dying For presents a concise overview of the entire process that led to this remarkable event. Simons, a journalist who won awards for his part in the uncovering of Marcos's wealth, relied on his experiences and many interviews (undocumented) in creating this comprehensive and interesting account. People Power ( LJ 3/15/87) covers a similar time frame, from the return and assassination of Benigno Aquino to the departure of Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos, but Simons's narrative is more critical and benefits from information not available earlier.
