From School Library Journal:
Grade 4-8 Calvin Willeford, age 12, throws water on a fighting cat and dog, only to discover that the cat is an alien who vanishes, leaving behind a ring. The ring brings Calvin and his friend Kathy into contact with tour groups of aliens visiting Earth. Then one of the alien's black suits malfunctions and Kathy and Calvin have to find his space ship and get him in it before he suffocates. This reasonable and well-paced story needs only basic scientific concepts to be understood and enjoyed by upper elementary fans of science fiction movies. There are, in fact, many references to such movies that may date this book in time. Meanwhile, it is accessible and entertaining on about the same level as Margaret G. Clark's Barney and the UFO (Dodd, 1979). Characterization is sufficient for the story, and the narrator's voice is appropriate for his age. There is far less readable science fiction for this age group than there is demand, so this story should be popular. Carolyn Caywood , Virginia Beach Pub . Lib .
